  If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Booked, paid for and double-checked to confirm a birthday party for my son. We show up, along with 20 seven-year-olds, and Gordon Head COMPLETELY FORGOT TO STAFF IT. We could luckily get into the venue, but it was dark and we had to entertain a bunch of kids in an empty gym for what was supposed to be a “sports themed” party with zero sports equipment.
  
  Hallways were dark and definitely unsafe, bathrooms unlit. Staff finally showed up super late to at least open the equipment rooms, but we were still expected to run the party. They manged to get a student over to run things more than an hour late to try and run a game. The “party room” we were given was dirty (food dirt on the tables etc). We were assured we could get a refund, but after driving down there they said they would have to process it and it would take additional days/weeks.
  
  Turns out one of the other parents at the party had a similar experience with Gordon Head on a separate occasion — clearly organization and staffing are a major issue.
  
  The UVic student that tried to run some activities super late was awesome, though. Michelle: you were great. Totally not your fault.
